Flat Pattern for multiple sheets

Flat Pattern for multiple sheets

I think the solution would be to Flat Pattern for multi body. If you like the idea, please vote. Thank you

It is very difficult to create models and drawings with multiple boards. One plate is of aluminum, the other plate of non-combustible material and the third plate of aluminum. For correct production, it is necessary to mill the grooves before making bends. This is used for building cladding.

Hello.

A 'Multi Flat Pattern' Feature would be a valuable addition to inventor, allowing you to create multiple flat patterns when working with multi body sheet metal parts. Currently, you can only use the flat pattern feature if there is a single body. If the single body is then split, the flat pattern doesnt show the full part (only part of the body).

I don't know witch version of Inventor you are using?

Within Inventor 2016 you can create multi body parts within a sheetmetal ipt.

After then you have to export those solids as individual parts (create components).

Those compoment can be flatten.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using Inventor 2016. I understand that you can create multi body parts and create flat patterns by exporting the solids to individual parts. What i'm asking for is a 'Flat pattern' to be created within the multibody part file so for example, in tree you would have:

Solid 1

Solid 2

Solid 3

Flat Pattern - Solid 1

Flat Pattern - solid 2

Flat Pattern - Solid 3

This would eliminate the need to export each as new parts and would greatly speed up the process.

I would certainly like to see this functionality, perhaps with an added functionality for composite rips across the connected parts.

this would be really good. I'm quite suprised that this didn't come with multi body sheetmetal parts.

make it possible to select the solid (of which you want the flat pattern)

Just like other feature, you have to select the solid(s), which you will apply this feature to.

Super idea.  Just need to choose the body to flat pattern and allow multiple flat patterns.
