Fix Snap-To View When Creating 1st Sketch on XZ-Plane

Fix Snap-To View When Creating 1st Sketch on XZ-Plane

This has to be the most ridiculously annoying thing I encounter in Inventor because it literally defies logic and common sense.

Why on earth, if we have global vertical and horizontal constraints and always try to draw a global-origin-centered part, while following a 3rd Angle Projection part design thought process, would Inventor rotate the view like this?

Yes, that is so annoying. It's almost embarrassing when teaching someone new to use it. "OK, click the vertical constraint then click on that line. Oh no, wait, you see that horizontal dotted line, that means we're looking at it side on. Click the horizontal constraint and then click that line, and that will make it vertical, obviously!"

Please please do one of the following:

  • either fix the default view orientation so that vertical is always vertical
  • merge the horizontal and vertical constraint commands into one, as they have done in fusion

@Anonymous it's straight insulting to me lol, and it's not even my product. It defies so much logic it's painful and gives me a one-way ticket to Anxietyville.
