I have never understood why this feature was omitted from gear generation, it makes no sense to me whatsoever. Its as if the creators of the gear generator have never heard of a rack and pinion. I have mentioned this before to the development teams, and just brought it up again in the Shelby forum. I have always recevied the same answer, that other things have higher priorities. That may be so, but when you have personally wasted time creating your own involute curves to create a rack the lack of an automated feature suddenly becomes extremely annoying, and expensive in both time and money. One thing for sure guys, don't expect to get this facility anytime soon!

I think it would be useful to be able to design/draw a rack to match any pinion drawn. It is simple enough to design the pinion however there is no fascility to create the rack other than to draw the component "long hand"
