Boreholes in derived parts useable for connecting assistant

Hello Inventor team,

it should be possible to use the boreholes in a derived part which are defined in the master part with the connecting assistant.
Now the boreholes will be not accepted in the connecting assistant if the part is a derived part with boreholes.

We create our models as skeletons and multi-volume bodies, which we derive as individual parts and combine into an assembly. The holes of the boreholes are then present in the parts, but are no longer recognized as boreholes.

In this case, you should:

  1. use the Concentric option in the bolted connection wizard or
  2. insert the Source Part into the assembly and change its definition to the Reference part.

Thank you for your remarks.
I know, that the concentric option works. But you can with this option choose only one hole and not several bore holes at once.

In our constructions the source part is an skeleton with many volume bodies. I dont want to put this skeleton in each assemby.

I think it would be better and easier if the information of the bore hole will be derived also into the parts and not only the geometry of a hole.

You can use concentric mode for multiple holes at once.

agree, it's the same issue with trying to use feature patterns for assembly patterns, and constraints and drawings breaking (loosing references to faces / edges)

I've been dealing with this for a long time.
I've also made some suggestions.
