AUTOSAVE!!!

AUTOSAVE!!!

For the love of Dog, institute an autosave feature. I use this software for business. Multi-Million Dollar projects. Constantly. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that when we get involved in projects, we get tunnel vision. Why? Because Inventor is incredible software and the design possibilities are endless.

However, you can't include an Autosave Feature?

As much as I love your software, I curse your name every time I'm building a project for a client and the software just decides to close. No rhyme. No reason.

The VERY least you can do while your software is so prone to crashes, it to allow your customers who spend ridiculous amounts of money to use your un-reliable software is to ensure we won't lose our work as we use it.

Make it happen! Vectorworks has that feature AND NEVER crashes.

How come this feature is still being ignored by Autodesk? Tired of losing work and seeing frustrated coworkers losing their tempers every time a crash happens.

For the low low price of $25 your problems can all be solved https://apps.autodesk.com/INVNTOR/en/Detail/Index?id=2011674918500320289&appLang=en&os=Win64

I bought it and let me tell you it is the best invention since sliced bread. They also have a yearly subscription of it for $10

There will never be a OEM "Autosave" in Inventor. Autodesk upper management does not care about you - they only care about profit. But hey - you can buy something from an independent developer (that will work until patch XXX.4 comes out.) Funny!

Most development for MCAD at Adesk is focused on Fusion. And before you fanboys get your panties all bundled up crying "THAT'S NOT TRUE - I WORK HERE - YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING", ask yourself "why aren't any of the usability functions that are at 90-95% within Inventor ever finished"? Because Inventor is heading down the road that AutoCAD is on.

There are some incredibly smart people developing applications at Autodesk. Unfortunately they are moved from refining the development of existing applications - to programming the next shiny new thing that the Autodesk product development team airheads plop in front of upper management. I can hear it now, AI, AI, AI. Most of these are people that have never actually designed or built anything in their life.

But don't worry, you won't have to be concerned with "Autosave" once you're forced into using "Inventor Fusion". I give it 5-6 years max. Just stop asking about Inventor "Autosave", it's not going to happen. Don't drive yourself crazy. Just do like all the sycophants in this thread suggest, CTRL-S (every 30 seconds!)

Oh, and by they way - the asinine "Line to Arc" sketching "FEATURE" will never be repaired either. Apparently satan left the development team after he programmed it.
