Accept UPPERCASE letter for unit in sketch and feature

We should be able to write MM as well as mm or IN as well as in for the dimension unit in sketch and feature.

Well, I think it will be a problem due to some dimensions with names, 'cuase, for example, "d" - is inner diameter and "D" - is outer. But if you propose it only to milimeters, than ok) For all the rest I don't think it's a good idea.

No problem, I am just trying to be helpful and consolidate the votes, it seems that the previous request has a lot of votes.

As somebody else suggested, it will be nice to be able to give older ideas a "bump' from time to time so new users can vote for them.

Cheers,

This would confuse Inventor as it also interprets SI unit prefixes.

I agree with @Anonymous that this wouldn't really make sense.  Case has meaning in the SI system (in this case, milli- versus Mega-), where it really doesn't have a meaning when applied to inches.

It annoys me when I do this as well, especially if I don't notice it right away and am confused why it won't accept my dimension.  But I'm not sure that setting up Inventor to accept an incorrect unit format is a good answer to what is essentially just a typo.

Perhaps there is some sort of middle ground.  Possibly a popup message that says something like "The unit type was not recognized.  Did you mean mm or Mm?", with the last portion being radio buttons that would correct the unit.
