Hello.
I tried to use iPart with Surfaces. But I have problem:
when the iPart inserting to the Assembly Document all Surfaces become not visible.
What is it: the bug or not perfection?
I attached the small sample

P.S. I have Inventor 2008 SP1

Just out of curiosity, what is the purpose of the surfaces?

🙂
The Russian technical documentation have much obligatory simplification. For instance, we not drawing the teeth of the gear. If use the surface, that "Reductive teeth" represent very easy and very comfortable. For much understanding I attached the picture.
Russian's drawing simplistically not only gears, and just as Bearing, Roller Chains, spline shaft etc.
But unfortunately iPart not suppored surfaces full:(.

You could get the surfaces in to iPart members by adding an iMate to the
surface in the iPart factory.

That's not what I read as the problem. As I read it the problem is displaying the surfaces in iam.

JD, obviously the question wasn't quite clear, but I assumed that this was a
question that I had heard before. Hence my suggestion for the "iMate
workaround".

I think that he was trying to place an iPart member, and the preview showed
the surface. And, he was disappointed to see that the iPart member that got
created did not have the surface.
