How to get HDR environment into Inventor IBL?

I've tried it, but perhaps I'm too dumb.

I could import the attached environment into Showcase.

But what now?

Inventor does not allow user to import an external HDR IBL. There is one idea about it:

Scene Image Lighting - Import / Custom HDR enviroments

Please vote it if you want such functionality.

Hey Walter,

lplu is correct. Inventor currently doesn't support importing custom IBL environments. I'm afraid that the help document isn't complete and suggest that you vote for the idea mentioned.

Here's a new technical article which will show you a workaround of adding custom HDR IBL environments. Do note that it's not an official workflow and won't be supported in case of a problem.

Well, I didn't read the article until now. But I've done some tests of my own.

Look at a first result in 2012.

Later: A first look at your description seems promising. I'll try it now with 2017.

Here's a test in 2017, following Inchul's recepture.

Only at the end of topic 5 an additional </Style> line was needed

Resolution is very good, but there seems to be no Dome&Ground behavior like in other IBL scenes. The Groundplane is floating far above the image.

Can this be done with imported HDR files?

Hmm. Meanwhile I did some other tests.

I could import - after some struggling - additional HDR scenes done in AutoCAD (from Excitech.co.uk). Same as with the Dosch scene, I was able to change Exposure and rotate them, but no scaling could be done.

Limitation or user's  dumbness?
