Hello, I am trying to constraint a cylindrical handle rod inside a hole so it won't move when the hole spin. I have it constrained but that just keeps it from moving in any other direction. Can you help me? this an image of the rod. It is constrained to that hole but it comes out when the hole turns.
It wasn't done in Dynamic Simulation or in Studio environment.
It was done in the assembly environment by simply driving a constraint.
Would you by any chance know how to an assembly and functionality in one
Yes, at least four ways that I can think of, maybe five...
The easiest way is Record a Drive Constraint.
I don't know what that means?
What else would I record?
Right click on a Constraint and select Drive Constraint.
Change the end condition and Record.
What happens?
That is the main thing I need to show, is how the parts come together, screws rotating with the threads. And then functions
I think before you were using the *.ipn environment. That would be OK for a static 2D drawing exploded view (and technically would work for an animation, but....)
I would use Environments>Inventor Studio for an animation of the assembling of the parts and then operation of the motion.
You think you could do like a video tutorial of this. I have only beenusing this software for a couple months. I am not sure how to use inventor studio
Here is example.
One of my students did this Arbor Press in first Inventor class.
Click the Next button at the bottom of the page - should take you step-by-step through the Inventor Studio Tutorials.
There are two tutorials.
Once you have gone through these tutorials I can show you how to expand upon the techniques with your assembly.
Here is my progress. everything seems to be constrained, I just need the collar to go into the sliding jaw and make the machine vice move back and forth. That is the part i'm stuck on. Could you do pictures like the last time or a video explaining how to do so.
I've attached the assembly file below
Did you take a look at the iam file i provided?
