X-Hatch in 2023 not breaking

It's been many years since I've had to do this on a regular basis, but I've attempted to insert text over a cross hatched area and have the hatch break around the text.

I've done this in the past numerous times, and always have the Option active in the Doc settings for the drawing template.

But in 2023, with the option active and inserting text either before or after the hatch is created, the hatch still does not break around the text as it typically did. Did something change? Am I missing something, a process change maybe?

If your text is a Sketch Symbol, you'll need to select another checkbox under: Ribbon: Annotate tab > Symbols panel > Insert Sketch Symbol > SYMBOL CLIPPING.

Hi Jim,

The hatch clipping applies only to annotations (leader text, symbols, and dimensions). I guess the text is in a sketch, right?

Many thanks!
