Wrap Sketch to Sphere

I'm trying to make a lamp with designs wrapped all over it but I'm having trouble wrapping 2D sketches to the outer face of the sphere. File attached.

I wanted the sketch to extrude into the sphere, then repeat the pattern around the equator 360 degrees so the sketch wraps around the sphere to a closed loop.

Can anyone help with this?

Hi @synchrotheus,

To wrap a 2d sketch around a 3d object you should look at 3d sketches - keep the 2d sketch and use the 'project to surface' tool by selecting the face and then the curves being your 2d sketch so you should get something like this:

Hi! You need to create multiple Split feature to account for the projected curves. Then you can use Ruled Surface command to create surfaces normal to the sphere. Then you can pattern the surfaces however you like.

Many thanks!
