When I select a workgroup search path on the one drive it list the path as C:\Users\Name.Surname. How do you select this path without the C:\ et as this wont work on another PC.

This is for single project creation without Vault.

Hi! I did a bit research on this topic. It looks like Microsoft allows personal OneDrive to be mapped as a Network drive (logical drive). But, for business OneDrive, such ability is blocked. You will need to use SharedPoint to do that. I need to consult with experts in this area and provide some update.

Many thanks!

Hi! I have discussed this request with our experts and I would like to share some update. There seems to be a way to map OneDrive path as a logical drive. It is not documented by Microsoft, so use it at your own risk.

First, you need to use IPCONFIG to find the IP address of the machine. For example, your machine's IP address is 1.2.3.4 and the OneDrive folder is C:\Users\JonDoe\OneDrive\. You can map the OneDrive folder to a logical drive by writing like the following.

\\1.2.3.4\C$\Users\JonDoe\OneDrive\

Then Inventor can write to the drive as if it is a local drive. Please note that this is not a workflow recommended by Microsoft. Nor do we actively test this particular configuration on Inventor. There could be unforeseen issues. Or, it can just work. We simply don't know. The best PDM system for Inventor is Vault.

Many thanks!
