Please try this.
- Create a sketch file (IPT). It is also called skeleton when using frame generator.
- Insert the skeleton in the assembly file.
- Start the frame generator and follow the instructions. It will create individual part files (IPT) for the frame members.
Otherwise, extruding solid in assembly (IAM) is not possible (wont extrude as you mentioned), except cutting off solid(s) in assembly.
