Hello,

Other than the little bit of sarcasm, that I probably deserve, I appreciate your response.

We are using 2022. Do you know how to access the Autosave feature? Everything I read says there is no Autosave available.

I agree I might not like it once I try it, but I also don't like rebuilding two hours' worth of work because I get so deeply involved in my work I forget to save. That is where my frustration comes from.

Thank you again for your response and happy Inventing....

RH

No problem at all.  I can certainly understand the frustration on the software side of things.  Mix that with a group of, let's not go there hehe.

Go to the Tools menu, Application Options > Save tab > Save Reminder Timer.

Technically not an autosave but it prompts you to save at what ever interval you'd like.

The problem some of us have is preferring to not use that option but it automagically turns itself on after <unknown>.

While not an autosave it will prompt you to save.

"auto" save is now present and has been for many versions.

The experienced people appear to not like it.

The new people seem to want it.

Same respond in SW forum.

Rebuild it enough times until you train yourself to "auto" save when stop clicking.

Been there, done that.

There is no "correct" time to autosave.  You'll never find the "best" time to autosave.  You can try every minute from 1 to 1000.  Every one is wrong most of the time.

The only "right" time to save is when you stop sketching.

Exit sketch, update and save.

Save before you take a drink.

Save before you get off the desk.

Save before you answer the phone.

Save before you talk to whoever try to talk to you.

Any progress with 2025 having AutoSave?

No.  Read through the previous entries in this topic to learn why it's unlikely this will happen.

Wrong, wrong, 1000 times wrong. Do 3 seconds of research before rushing in to be an Autodesk shill: https://apps.autodesk.com/INVNTOR/en/Detail/Index?id=3908021420381157341. Autosave is obviously possible. It's a standard feature in any piece of software. I used Solidworks for 4 years with autosave and had zero issues with it.

Stop making excuses for Autodesk's crappy attitude. I actively encourage users to complain about this continuously until this is fixed.

Before I discovered iLogic Copy Design, I messed days worth of work a couple of times while doing "what ifs" and forgetting to not save it.

I suppose if you were to set it up to have several backup saves then it would be acceptable to have it saving all on its own, but only then.
