When closing checked out file...no dialogue box to prompt check in...

When closing a checked-out file, I used to get a prompt, something like "The current file is checked out; would you like to check in?"

I don't get this anymore and am wondering where exactly is this enabled?

Thanks

Jim

Hi gixxerjim,

Maybe you accidentally told it not to prompt again? If so you can go to the Vault tab on the ribbon in Inventor, and then click the Vault Options button. From there you can explore the prompt settings.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

I have found it sometimes prompts on parts, sometimes does not, and never prompts on drawings.

Hi @Anonymous,

please check your settings against those : Inventor prompt.PNG

If this curious behavior still persists, please record it (e.g. with Screencast), maybe we can see something.

Please give us details about your configuration (Inventor, Vault, OS)

Thank you

Is there an upate here?

We just upgraded to 2017VP and the setting in Inventor is to always prompt for checkin when closing a file...

Agree this is a pain on large files (seeing it on all Inventor filetypes).

I have noticed that if I don't save and try to close a file it will ask me to save THEN ask me to check the file in..

But if you save the file first then close that file it will NOT prompt you to check the file in..

Shouldn't it prompt to check the files in in either case?

The command is "on close".. not "on close if you haven't already saved the file"

Fixed my issue... Moral of the story... DO NOT UPDATE VAULT CLIENT without also updating the Vault Server to match.

I was not aware that their updates must remain in sync..
