What is the advantage of adding a weld symbol during weldment assy creation?

So I'm trying my hand at using the welded assy.  There's an option to create a symbol for a weld.  However

A. if I didn't add it, I can't go back and add the symbol later.  Why not? 

B. I don't see any advantage to having them.  I assume they're there for a good reason but I'm not seeing it yet.

B. If you add weld symbol to Weldment assy, it may help to illustrate the model better. Help the customer to see the detailed model or for advertising purpose, printing on catalog.
