VIEWER .IAM / .STP / .STEP

Dear All,

I am looking for a viewer which permit my team to have a look at the IAM/STEP files I made for them.

They tried the INVENTOR VIEW but it doesnt give the possibility to HIDE/UNHIDE parts and groups.

Of course the PC where they have to see such files dont have an autodesk license.

thanks in advance for your prompt feedback,

Regards,

@mauro.beretta

If you have Inventor 2020, these users could use the new function read only mode but its not going to work on step files.

Update:  Viewing in your A360 account might be another solution for you.

I haven't tested this out to your Hide/Unhide requirements, but https://viewer.autodesk.com/

will read many file types and does not require installation of software as it is cloud-based and works in your browser.

eDrawings says it will open Inventor .iam and .ipt files...

I tried it on my machine, but I have eDrawings 2018 and Inventor 2019 installed.  I'm not sure the older version of eDrawings actually understands the newer version of the Inventor files...

Hi,

I will go with INVENTOR READ ONLY MODE. It will perfectly fits my needs.

I had some doubt on how handle the "customer project" since I work on a main project and then all the customers will have their customization.

I think that instead making STEP files for customers I will make PACK&GO of every customer assembly to keep track of their exactly history and versioning. Sounds good to you guys ?

Hello!

I know wikifactory has a 3D viewer online, free if the file is open source and not much money if it's private.

I hope it helps you!
