vault - how to view, open previous saved versions

in vault you can see a history of drawings... in there under "stat" you see if the drawing was "work in progress" or "released".

lets say for example that there are 8 different versions in there.  first drawing was saved, checked in on 1/17/19.  again on 1/17/19, 1/18/19, 2/25/19 as "work in progress" and a few more times up until 3/8/19 when it was released.

if i wanted to look at the drawing that was checked in on any date before it was released how can i?  if you can't what's the point of having the various versions in there?

This probably belongs on the Vault forum since it is dealing with vault functionality.

We don't use lifecycles so I don't know if that will change this at all, but for me I can select a file and under the history tab I see all the different versions.  If I select one of those previous versions and "get" it from vault then I can open it up in Inventor to see what the file was like before changes.  Another option is to go to the Preview tab and select the version you want to see, this will show you the dwf of the selected version, assuming you have visualization files turned on.

What you suggested i think will work.  i did not know or even think about "getting" a older version.  i tried using the "preview" tab.  got a message about autodesk review is not installed.....get it at ........

i'll see if i can get someone to install it and see how that works.

thanks for your help
