Vault Error when using Copy Design: Value cannot be Null. Parameter name: path2

I'm trying to get copy design to work on a big assembly we have but it pops up with a dialog box saying:

"Value cannot be Null. Parameter name: path2"

I've got my working folder properly set in C:\Vault Workspace. Some of the sub assemblies in this big assembly don't get this error when I use copy design. Anyone know of a fix?

I just had the same error. I was able to determine that the culprit was a .ipt which was derived from another ipt that no longer exists.  I broke the link to the derived part and the error went away.

Hi Chuck,

This sounds like a bug to me. I guess Vault Copy Design detect a potential cyclic relationship and then error out. The bug is not with Vault. It is likely in Inventor that such cyclic relationship was allowed at a time. Please feel free to share an example that exhibits the behavior. Something is wrong. You should not need to break the link in order to copy files.

Many thanks!
