Using Direct Edit or Edit Solid

If I import this step file of a threaded rod that is 6"

What is the easiest way to make it 4"?  8"?

I dont see where we are able to send an attached file but here is the link.

I am looking for a best practices

What I do know is split the threaded rod at the chamfer and then extrude and then combine the chamfer but it sound like way too many steps.

I guess I dont understand why I cant just drag the face of the solid 2 inches out or in.

Thoughts?

Thanks

You can use direct edit.. You just need to select the end and the chamfer face.. Enjoy!!

Gents,

The suppport in this forum is second to nine for thoroughness and reply time. Cant thank this community enough. I dont know if its like a close fraternity of pro Inventor vs all others or what but I frequent many forums on many things and this is arguably the strongest support group going.
