User Interface question - editing model states

I have some components that have multiple model states. I've been using the model tree to control what is being edited. Is there an easier way? Some kind of sub-interface?

I know about these tools. But I don't want to make my assembly into an iAssembly or iPart.

Hi!

If you work with recent Inventor versions, you can use those blue pencils to select the members you are (or not) editing.

(view in My Videos)

Also you can open the table or excel file to edit directly, add Model states (members), etc... similar to edit an ipart or iAssembly.

I'm asking about another way than using the model tree, or blue pencils. Get a component with a lot of stuff in it, and it gets annoying to have to go to the top of the table then go back and find where you were editing over and over.

The other method, I don't see the edit table option. Do I have to activate it somehow?

I'm using Inventor 2025, should I ask IT if we can upgragde?

Sorry, that option (edit by table) doesn´t exist in version 2025.
Also the "blue pencils selection"  in version 2026 is updated and have more options then in 2025.

Anyway, You have the "edit via spreadsheet, which is very similar but opens an excel.

I'll say if you use Model States often, probably will be better to use 2026.

Hi @SMillsYS3X2 ,

Just checking back on this issue. Did the response from the community member CCarreiras help resolve the problem for you?

If you found another solution or workaround that worked better, could you please share it with the community? It would be very helpful for others who may encounter the same issue in the future.

Thank you!
