Updated Product Renders

Here's a look at some updated part files used in high-pressure water blasting for pressures 5,000 psi and 40,000psi.

These were modeled using Inventor, UV'd in MODO, and rendered using Octane.

When modeling for renders you have to take into account details normally left out of the generic CAD process when modeling is being done for space claims, constraints, and a BOM. Solid Body modeling is a must, as the individual solid bodies act as independent "mesh" items in most render programs, thus saving a lot of time when selecting surfaces for UV's and texturing.

Hi Chris,

Many thanks for sharing the findings! I am wondering how Inventor Realistic View + Ray Tracing (with GPU support) on 2024/2025) compares with these results.

Thanks again!

@johnsonshiue  I'll try and run one and see what they look like, keep in mind, these materials are UV'd and mapped with textures, I don't have that functionality in Inventor, so the "stainless Steel" is going to look a little fake, I can't control the direction that the brushed aluminum anodized colored caps goes. Also, the laser etching is an alpha mate for a compound material in Octane, so that won't show up either. Does the Inventor Realistic view allow DOF (depth of Field)?

@johnsonshiue  Here is what the Realistic Render with Ray Tracing on looked like (15 minutes)

Hi Chris,

Many thanks for trying! The Realistic view in Inventor looks nice but no comparison to your tools. In this case, Inventor's rendering looks very crisp but too crisp to feel real.

Thanks again!
