Unresolved Content center parts

Movin' on up - from 2015 to 2017. (Yes, we're a timid bunch.)

Most of the hiccups and hurdles have been dealt with, however I'm having great puzzlement over the Content Center parts failing to get pulled automatically.

All the part files from "2015/en-us/(all the subfolder structure)" to "2017/en-us/(all the subfolder structure)" and then migrated to 2017. Default file locations have been reappointed for the libraries and the Content Center. The company templates have been migrated, too, just in case you're asking.

Upon opening legacy assemblies, the dialog box pops up asking "Where's 'ASME B16.5.2.357 Left-hand Widget 9_16 - 10.25(7)'?" Been there, done that, except the file is right there in the files shown, correct year's folder and all, yet is not automatically selected. Once selected, it whines about this file not being in the search path of the active project file... which is either very well hidden or not true...? The Folder Options' "Content Center Files" points to the correct Library folder. Old library files have been moved out therefrom.

What have I missed and/or how do I beat Inventor into submission?

Hi! The behavior does not sound right to me. It should work. Is "Use Unique File Name" set to Yes?

In the Project dialog, with the project active, "Options" property "Using Unique File Names" is set to "Yes."

What path do you have selected for content center under your folder options of your active project file.   Please post the entire path here (for review).

There are only two of us in this office, with me being the primary user by a long stretch, so we simply place templates, etc. on a network drive. (Vault seems like overkill in this situation.)

You have not got your content center configured correctly.  You have combined your desktop content center library files location and where Inventor looks to find the individual content center components..  In your first image, Tools/Applications Options/Content Center tab, that's the location of your desktop content center libraries (.idcl).  That's correct.  In the Tools/Application Option/File tab image under "Default Content Center Files", you also have your individual content center components (once placed into an assembly) going to the same location as your libraries.  Don't do that or combine them.   In addition that settings is not the same location as your "N:\Inventor\Content Center Files\R2017" location you show in your Windows Explorer image.  Correct the location (Default Content Center files) to point to N:\Inventor\Content Center Files\R2017 and that should resolve your issues.
