I am running Windows 7 x64

Inventor 2015

Whenever the program is started I get the loading splash page then it fails with the error window.  If I go into Programs and do a repair, and start the program again I get the EULA then the same thing happens again.

The error doesn't seem to give me a lot of information.  I have probably 100 machines at our district and we have steadily been getting more reports of this issue.

Thanks,

What happens if you right mouse click on the Inventor icon and run as admin?

Can you provide more details about your machines?  Ram, free disk space, video card and its driver version?

Same thing.

Even if I log onto local admin, a domain admin or a non-admin.  Same issue each time.

I just went into the "create and modify deployment" tool and saw there was a service pack update.  I am going to push this out and see if we can get any changes.

Generally the computers have an i3 with 4 gB of RAM.  The kids are using the computers now so I can't get all the specifics for you now.

Here you go.  One is the initial box and the other is after I press the view error details button.

I need the dumpuserinfo.xml file that is located in C:\user\<username>\appdata\local\temp folder.  This file only appears if the dialog shown in the 2nd image is still present on the machine.

However this file contains your serial #.  So if you do not want to share this info with the entire community please send me a private message and I will tell you how to get this file to me.

Reinstalled Inventor with SP1/2 and updates and problem persists on multiple profiles on the machine.

Previous version was completely removed before new install.

Travis,

What sort of graphics hardware do you have installed ? If you have an on-board Intel GPU, please ensure to update that graphics driver, or disable the Intel GPU & use the other main graphics card, asssuming you have one installed.

I don't see any crash reports in our system with your email address. Please ensure to add your email address & send the CER reports in.

Thanks

Chris

I just submitted the error report to you.

This machine was reimaged today fresh.  Its also had Inventor put on it today fresh which I added SP1, 2 and update 1 and 2 for SP 2.

All updates and SPs were installed during the deployment.

As soon as I start I get the EULA, then it fails.  This time I submitted the error.

Thanks,

Travis,

In order to locate the crash report we need to know what email address you entered into the report.

Travis,

I don't see any reports in the system assigned to that email.

In your %TEMP% folder, do you have a dumpdata.zip with a time stamp which corresponds to your last attempt to launch the product?  If so, please email it to me using mike.dickason@autodesk.com.

Thanks

Travis,

Based on the dumpdata.zip you emailed me, I see two immediate problems.   The crash report indicates you have the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 installed, but the requirements for Inventor 2015 are to have .NET Framework 4.5 SP1.

The second issue is the Intel video driver you are using on the machine is over 4 years old.   You need to download the latest Intel video drivers for your hardware.
