Turn off parts in a drawing without having to go to the browser

Is there a way to turn off parts in a view without having to search for that part or parts in the browser?
it would be splendid if I could choose the part  in the view and hide the entire part

Yes.

First, make sure your drawing view is NOT associative with the view rep (otherwise the view rep controls the visibility).

Shift+Right click (to select "Part Priority")

Select the part

Right-click > Visibility

If you know which parts will be hiding in drawing while modeling, add View Rep with parts hidden and use it in drawing.

Something like cabinet with door hidden.  Cover removed to show internal parts.

This is more just for added info, but you can also change selection priority from one of the icons at the top of the screen while in drawings.

Change it from "edge priority" to "part priority", then you can select whole parts in drawing views to work with.

Using the "Edit Select Filters" can be SUPER useful if you want to do something like select only balloons or dimensions, etc., and you can even save certain presets as "custom filters" if you use them lots.

Just DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE IT BACK TO EDGE PRIORITY AFTER you've done what you intended though, since having it on something else may prevent you from being able to certain things that involve selecting view lines, like dragging existing dimension points to new places on view lines.

**EDIT**

Sorry, once done with the "edit select filters" stuff, you'd just click the "select all" option and it resets to allowing you to select everything again (instead of just immediately selecting everything, which is what it sounds like).

@Frederick_Law  view reps are awesome... when created with hindsight, lol
