Turn off layers in an assembly in Inventor View

I bought Inventor LT and AutoCad LT to view files from engineering. Inventor LT will not open assemblies, can I turn off visibility of components in Inventor View.

No, you cannot turn off the visibility of components in an assembly using Inventor View.  You can select component in the browser, right click and select OPEN to view that component only.

Hi! Unfortunately, Inventor View is just a viewer. You can only open iam, ipt, and idw as is without the ability to change it. May I ask why you bought Inventor LT assuming that you could open all Inventor files (assembly and its drawing)  from different department. Inventor LT can only open part files and drawing associated with the parts.

I bought inventor LT “assuming” I could view project models, I have to use inventor view instead,unfortunately without the ability to turn off some components the models are typically too congested to be of any use.   My fault for assuming anything, but purchasing inventor Lt has no value to me. I am unsure what the intended purpose of this software is now.

Hi! You can also use Autodesk Online Viewer. It allows you view most of Autodesk product files for free.
