Tube and Pipe "create run failed"

I was working in my tube and pipe assembly today and went in to an already populated route, created a new route, added some route seatmates, and then went to populate it and an error box popped up and all it says is "create run failed."

All I had done was add in some fittings in the overall assembly. I tried deleting all those fittings and populating the route again and the error message still popped up.

Any help would be appreciated!

Generally if I have to edit a T & P run, where I'm deleting and adding fittings, I delete the run and start over.

Hi! This could be related to \Design Data\ not properly set up. To check, close all files and go to Get Started -> Project -> Folder Options -> Design Data. What is it set to?  Does the \Design Data\ folder contain \Tube & Pipe\ folder with a Pipe Run template?

Many thanks!

@mpptravis

A lot of things can cause this type of T&P error.  Without seeing what you started with, and knowing exactly the workflow that led to the error, it will be very hard to diagnose.  I am guessing that you probably added too much and put the route into an over constrained condition that caused it to be incalculable.  Sometimes, when this happens, the run can become corrupted and, as @blair  said, you might have to start over.  It's just a guess without seeing more data.  Can you show some screen shots of the route itself (sketch) with dimensions and constraints visible?

I am having same issue.

Is it happening only to butt welded pipe style?

Did you recently installed inventor update 2020.1 & 2020.2? If yes, than that's the cause of problem.

Go to your tube & pipe style switch off the "Butt welded" option.

This is not an ideal solution and Autodesk should rectify this problem.

Found the issue and the solution

Inventor 2020 is misscreating tube and pipe styles .

Solution:

1.- Create your new style (this one won't work)

2.- Export your style as XML

3.- Edit the xml with a plain text editor (such as notepad++, do not use WORD)

4.- Find the string: PL="25,400000&quot

5.- Replace it with : PL="PL&quot

6.- Delete your new style and import the XML > The imported one has no fixed Pipe Length, that was the problem actually.

Rergards.
