Tube & Pipe alignment

Hi all

How do you manually route (align) a line to a point of another fitting as shown below?

I started manually routing from the top fitting and going down to the bottom one. I tried using the "create construction line" option from the bottom fitting to constrain to, but the fitting will not move when constraining.

Hope this makes sense?

@MarcellW start from both ends and joint them with an endpoint coincident constraint

I found the issue. I did try that, but it did not work due to the fittings not being exactly in the same plane. It's a fraction away...

Thank you for your reply

Route Style:
The best method would be to set up a style having 45degree elbows and draw the route as the z shape using either route tool or 3D sketch. This way you can connect both branch wye fittings in one go.

Manual:
Manually attaching elbows to routes will be longer and you will likely need to measure the offset distance of either vertical and angled distance. I would disconnect the bottom wye fitting and attach to lower 45 then measure horizontal offset and adjust vertical pipe by this amount.

Hi A.Acheson

I managed to fix the problem by correcting the angles/position of the fittings. I then used auto route and converted it to sketches afterwards to edit the lengths. This was rather quick and easy to do.

Thank you for your input.
