Trouble making a flat pattern

I'm fairly new to inventor.

I usually work with customer supplied .step files.

9 times out 10 i can get inventor to develop a flat pattern.

I attached a test part that i can't seem to flatten out.

I set the thickness rule in sheet metal defaults.

I have been reading forums and trying different things all morning.

not sure what i'm missing.

When you open the part, it is a standard part file and not sheet metal, so you need to click on the "convert to sheet metal icon, then it should get the correct information. Please see attached video. I had to crop off the bottom because I had work stuff up, but when I select the top face, its because it is prompting you to select a "base face"

The Thickness of the part has to be measured and transferred to the Sheet Metal Defaults DB. Here is the converted part in IV2020 format.

Cheers,

Igor.
