Trouble creating pattern as attached.

Hi guys,

I have attached a pic of a mixtape i am currently designing. What i am unable to design is the pattern at the bottom of the tape, the square pattern which looks similiar to a knurled surface.

I have tried various ideas but am out of any more. Also is there some option which directly says"knurl" which i can use to create this surface as that would be way easier.

I am using Autodesk Inventor 2016

Please let me know if u need clarifications on my question

I thought each little square is shaped like a little pyramid cut into the face. If so, use the square sketch with the taper command. Use the Extrude-Cut option and then pattern in both directions.

The Knurl Appearance would be the easiest with the least system overhead.

@blair You say that like you don't have a pile of 80's hair band cassettes sitting right there at your desk... we know better.

@Anonymous To apply an appearance as blair suggests, Right click on the face of the part you want to change and select Properties, and then choose one of knurled options from the list.
