Trouble creating flat pattern

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've tried creating a flat pattern from a curved panel but I'm not having any luck. I've tried creating the part different ways, so I'm not sure what I'm missing from this process. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be grateful.

I'm using Inventor 2015.

Earlier I suggested downloading the Service Packs (there are 2).

In Post #32 your file indicated that it was created in Service Pack 1.

In Post #40 your file indicated that it was created in Service Pack 0?

Are you using two different computers?

The next question might be a bit difficult to understand and answer.

Refer to the image below.

Arc Radii.png

You have 5 different arc radii.

How will your part be manufactured?

Will you be doing the actual bending?

Will someone else inside  your company be doing the actual bending?

Will someone outside of your company be doing the actual bending?

If you make the arcs tangent (currently they are not) there will not be any clear transition between bend arcs.  I assume you do not want this - that there should be bends between the arcs).

If you do not add tangents there will be definite bend lines (let's call them creases) between the large arcs.

I assume this is what you want - but I need to know before proceeding.

Ok...i will try to explain you this ...

The A word must be as much as possible equal as dwg file ( because this is the font they will use )... this will be produced in another company so i have to make it easy ;)...

So i think you understand what i mean...

Sam

The updates have no bearing (at least I don't think they do) on your particular problem.

From a manufacturing standpoint - I have to have an answer.  Tangent or not tangent.

I am not sure that you understand the implications of the two solutions.

I am going to assume not tangent in my next set of instructions.
