Trimmed Surface

Hi All,

Hoping for some help with a workflow.

Im manufacturing a set of stairs that run straight and then curve.

I need to make a plate (sheetmetal for flat pattern and rolling later) that follows the inner profile of the stairs, but has a 40mm upstand projection, Im not cetain how to acheive this so any support would be greatly appreciated.

Screenshot of the upstand attached and the ipt file Im using with the treads modeled and a surface (thicken afterwards) is where I got to before needing experts help!

This is an example of a simple intersection, so you will need to use a logical operation.

That is pretty much what I want, but cant follow along your vidoe as I can only read English, any chance you could do in English ?
