Trim/Extend Pipe Tool question

I am wondering if the trim/extend pipe tool could be used to extend a pipe, For example if I have two pipes butt up against each other, can the "trim/extend pipe tool" be used to extend one of the pipes into the other pipe as if it were a swage end? So, my end product would be to have the one pipe extend into a swage end pipe instead of a fitting? or would I need to find another way to make that process happen?

Trim/Extend can only be used with open ends, end nodes.

Here's my post on this:

To simulate swagged, butt welded (melted into another). You need to change your engagement distance to create an overlapping connection.
