TITLE VIEW - FOR EACH "VIEW"

This is such a basic drafting thing but I can't seem to figure out how to make a "symbol" for my views

for some reason I am having trouble taking my manual view "title" and copy - pasting it????

The one I imported as a symbol from autocad, just wants to disappear after a few open/closing of the file.

I can't believe I am having trouble making something so simple ?? Anyone??

Hi

Your post is very vague, can you share some more information on what is the real problem. Perhaps a screen capture or files.

Are you perhaps looking for the default styles. You can set what information and formatting you require to be displayed with each placed view.

my autocad block disappears and I for whatever reason cannot copy it into another file. I had to make an entirely new set of drawings because all of my autocad blocks went missing. so I'm trying to recreate the block as a sketch or whatever and i can't copy/paste it around for whatever weird reason. Why is copy/paste such a difficult function in inventor - is an entirely other problem

Hi,

Have you tried to explode the AutoCad block in Autocad first, then copy and paste in Inventor, then make block again

Double click the view and change the field   “Label”  and ensure the light bulb 💡 is switched on see link

Unfortunately the view labels are not enough, and I want to be able to customize the title. I want to be able to add a view label, such as what it automatically populates - and also a description. and I want it to look like this:

so i want a label inside of circle, with a line to separate the title, and I want to also add description as I please.. and the scale...

This means for every single automatic label inventor creates, I have to go in and edit the text, underline it, justify to the left and manually add in a circle?

Hi

Besides the circle, you can set the default label in Inventor. You need to break away from the AutoCAD blocks and start using the Inventor tools.

I do exactly what you do.

I have a Circle Sketch Block with a prompted text entry, The only downside is I have to eyeball the placement on the view.

See example of a Detail and Section Label.

The Justification is set in the text styles.
