TITLE BLOCK LOCATION UNKNOWN BY INVENTOR

When I update a title block in an "old" drawing (I copy and paste from a "current" blank drawing opened from a template) Inventor gives an error message that the title block location is not within the current project folder location, even though it is.  How is this corrected???  It's quite annoying, and, the next time the updated drawing is opened Inventor searches for a LONG time to find the title block.  Once this opening occurs all is fine.  See attachments about file locations and error message.

Title block is a drawing resource of the drawing template.    The titleblock is not a separate file  Are you talking about the drawing template itself?

When are you getting this message, when you directly open the template?

The message is related to the location of your Inventor project file settings, not the settings of your template location in Application options/File tab or the folder option within your active project file.

Update:  In addition there's no need to create a separate word document to attach images.  Just use the provide tools in the posting.

I think you might be using an unsupported workflow. A template file is not supposed to have any link or dependency to another file. The title block should be inserted to the drawing sheet, not linked.

I don't think I'm "linking" a template to a drawing as I also am updating drawing borders without incident. See pictures below for procedure.



Drawing with "old" border/title block:

Open a new drawing from a template:

The "new" drawing:

Copy the border and paste it to the "old" drawing:

Updated border inserted:

Copy and paste updated title block and get error:

Updated title block inserted:
