Hello everyone,

We have in the Title Block at Material two properties Material and Dim

is it possible to set it somehow if there is a specific material eg "Generic" then it should not appear in the material but only "Dim"?

Hi!

I believe is not possible.

You can have two titleblocks in your template: one with <Material> and <Dim>, and other with only <Dim>, and apply/change the respective titleblock for each case.

Just out of curiosity, why would you ever have a material as generic? Shouldn't all of the materials be applied as the real thing?

Yes and no.
For example - I don't allocate any material to bolts, nuts, washers. Since the same bolt can be made out of Stainless Steel of different grades, or high tensile steel, etc. I specify the material for these items in the Purchase Order instead.

But that might be just me.

Hi @blandb 

For example, we use Generic for the frames skeleton, for the components we buy and use their 3D in our assemblies: Engines, sensors, actuators...

I was taking the look as if you are needing to place in dims and materials into the title block that would be for items you are making which do have a material. But FG skeletons are reference so wouldn't be making them, and then sensors and motors would be called out in parts lists and would not be making those. I had tunnel vision on, I obviously don't know your drawing structure.

Well.. you could use ilogic to create a custom iprop called "MaterialTB" or whatever and then just reference that in your title block.. Code would set it to blank if the selected material is generic..
