Thread data error content center error

I usually work around this, save as, edit & import to fix the issue.

The content center manager doesn't appear to recognize the ISO Metric profile in the thread.xls file (which has been edited) - which could be the cause of the problem!

That message is not telling you that there is a problem with the thread.xls file.  It is telling you that you cannot change a library part.  You need to create a special project that has the library path as the workspace to be able to edit the files in the library.

Hello

CC creates a part with a 1.6 pitch thread - a small i is displayed next to the thread feature in the browser.

this thread is also  ACME & iso is requested in the CC manager.

I can swap out the library part but it's a faff.

Hi Andrew C,

I believe Andrew IV is right. This is about the ability to modify files stored in a library folder, unrelated to thread table. Any file stored in a library folder (within the active Project) is considered readonly. Inventor will complain when you try editing it.

Many thanks!

Apologies for the poorly worded question, I've skipped over the problem trying to guess the answer.

Going to the content centre manager copy & paste the M7x25 line, edit to M7 x 20 - place the part for the very first time and.. an incorrect thread is applied to the part (that's the problem).

1 - Warning appears

2 - i in browser next to thread

3 - two M7 fasteners together, M7 x 25 has the edited thread applied

4 - the M7 x 20 will have an ACME M1.6 thread applied (which isn't on the CC editor row - eariler post).M7x20.jpg

Regards

Hi Andrew C,

No need to apologize! I did not understand the issue clearly. I will work with the project team to see if this is a known issue.

Many thanks!

Hi andrew.canfield,

thank you for your feedback. I tried the same on the latest version of Inventor 2021.1 and if I change correctly also other values - especially both columns with caption "Nominal Diameter" but different column name "NND" & "THREADDIA"

BS EN ISO 4017 - new member M7 - NND change .png

BS EN ISO 4017 - new member M7 - THREADDIA change .png

I can see that inserted part has correctly applied thread

BS EN ISO 4017 - new member M7 - inserted part has correct thread.png

Regards
