Text Items Not Working On Certain Workstation

I recently started work at a new company and they ordered me a brand new workstation. Im running into an issue where i open up a preexisting drawing and my computer somehow ruins all the text in the document. The text box for each item becomes like 100 inches wide and 50 inches tall which is larger than the entire page. I have to individually click into each text box and set the fill color to "sheet color". It doest this on every page in the whole document, even if i havent touched those pages. Fixing all the text on 50 page documents takes hours but its the only way ive found to fix it. I thought maybe the text styles are messed up on my computer but i couldnt find anything useful. Please help me. Thank you in advance.

Hi! This is likely display setting related. Please try the followings and see if it helps.

1) Make sure all critical Windows updates are installed and the graphics driver is updated.

2) Go to Windows Display settings and select the recommended resolution and scale.

3) Right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Change High DPI settings -> check both boxes.

Many thanks!

Didnt seem to do anything. I wouldnt imagine it being some kind of windows issue but more of a inventor specific issue. Like i said its just putting a background mask on all my text and the mask is massive The background mask is so big that when i go to print my sheets its just one big blank sheet. In the photo below you can see where the text is and how large the text box is. That whole text box shows up as a white rectangle.

Attached are two more images showing my title block in the middle of a giant text box, and how big the text box actually stretches out. The text box may not seem that big but just use the 36x24 title block as reference. The text box is nearly 1000 feet wide and only using .125 text.

Check the font the textbox use.

Maybe font is missing.

Message 6 of 11

How would i check that? Up in the corner where it says "Note Text (ANSI)"?

Arial is the default.

Click somewhere between "Product Kiosks" as if you try to add another word.

The "Arial" might change.

You can also attach the drawing file with the "bad" textbox.

If you can open it in another computer that works properly, you can compare.

Unfortunately its a work file so it cant be shared. Everyone else can open it and it works just fine. My computer is the only one that has this issue and its pretty much making me unable to do my job until i figure it out.

Im working in autocad for now just to do some 3d modeling and push forward. When i get back on inventor ill see if the font changes when i type in something new.

It could be missing font, could be they didn't setup Style Library on new computer.

You can delete all the views, titleblock and bolder.  Just keep the problem textbox.

Hi! Then you may need to add a system variable to control the UI scaling factor. Close Inventor and go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Environment Variable. Add the following two variables.

"QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR" and set its value to 0.

"QT_SCALE_FACTOR" and set its value to 1.

Many thanks!
