Surface modelling help

I have an STL file of a point cloud survey.

The four squares on this are cast-in plates.

I need to create a surface model of the geometry to assist with machining the face of a thicker plate which can be offered up to the existing.

Hi!

This is an impracticable geometry to turn into a solid... too many faces to handle.

I would use the file only as a reference and design a new solid on top of this.

Hi! I suggest you look into Fusion 360 Mesh Design environment. There are quite a few tools to help clean up the mesh and convert it to body geometry.
