2022.2 here as well and everything is fine.
Try an Inventor repair maybe? Is your graphics card under Autodesk's compatible list, and updated with latest drivers?
Maybe grab the "hatch.xml" from another PC that does not have this problem, from the design data folder they're using. I'm attaching mine here.

Hey

Thanks for the reply. Update:

Graphics are up to date

GPU is compatible

re-installed Inventor

re-installed 2022.2

the error only occurs AFTER i have clicked the button to get the 'From Style Library' button. Once that has been clicked and the materials have been imported, i get this error

Is your style library placed in a network location? Try using a test project with local/default styles just to see if this happens again. Here I clicked the same button, as I said, and all was fine. Maybe try the compatibility hardware mode and software graphics just to be sure.

Hi! When dialogs misbehave, it could be DPI related. Try making the following changes.

1) Change Windows Screen Resolution and Scaling to Recommended setting.

2) Right-click on Inventor icon on desktop -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Change DPI Settings -> check both boxes.

Many thanks!
