Stuck Ordinate Set

Hello,

I have a view with an ordinate set that is stuck.

It seems to be limited by a magnetic field, invisible force or political border that doesn't let it move past say the center of the sheet.

All its dimensions are far to the left of the view.

If I move the view closer to the center, then I can move the set close to the view, but if I move the view to the right, they will stay on the left side of the page...

In the past, in a different file, they have been stuck at the top of the page.

I can delete it and start all over, but I need to do a lot of copy-paste of views and this would waste me lots of time.

Any idea of why is this happening and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

I seem to remember having this once or twice and here’s a clue but it would really help if you could share the drawing. Remove everything sensitive and upload it here please.

Only guessing that you have a section view, detail, breakout or cropped view in which case the attachment points of the dimensions fall outside the visible part of the view, or just need moving.

Start by dragging the dimension EVEN FURTHER OUT of the sheet (away from the view) and then keep it selected to see the gripping (attachment) points of the lines. I bet, at least one of the extension lines has it’s gripping point on geometry outside of the view and you need to reattach them, but this stays valid with full views as well

Ordinate don’t seem to travel continuous as normal dimensions but rather travel only up to the attachment point.

Here’s an example, watch my clicking points and the dragging of end grips.

 Good Luck.
