Could someone run me through the steps of creating this in autodesk inventor? I have basic proficiency in inventor but I'm new to the concept of creating new axes. I'd appreciate help asap :')

Just give it a try.. You can only get better is by just jumping in and do it. Then fix what's needed later. Probably best to do it a top & bottom section separately. And you'll need more dimensions for the top, like the strip top width, and the side angles. Good luck.

That appears to be a lofted profile, what are you wanting to create an axis for?

Hi!

Without more info....

I would do that in two steps:

Step 1: Create sketch in Plane YZ an create a revolve (360 deg).

Step2: Create the sketch in Plane XY and create a extrusion (both sides option).

No need extra planes or axes.

Here's an example:

Is this what you are looking to do? No axis needed.

its supposed to go vertical, not transition into the square. i assume we will just draw another circle on the same plane as the square for that, with the same diameter as the square below (10 mm). also my main struggle is creating those yellow planes. how do i do that? and once u created all the sketches, did u just extrude? and select all faces during the extrusion i assume?

The bottom plane is just an origin plane. Then you can use offset work planes from the base plane you use and offset the first level. Then repeat with the values shown. You will be using loft and not extrude. Loft from bottom circle clicking each sketch as you move up until the last sketch is the bottom of the square (if it it supposed to transition to the square).  Then another loft from the bottom of the square to the top rectangle.

It did a nice blending transition from circular to square.
