STEP FILE WITH MULTIPLE PARTS

Hi,

A customer sent me a single step file with multiple parts (15) separate parts that need to have separate detail drawings made.

Is there a way to pull out the separate part so I have 15 separate parts?

I attached a pic so its easier to visualize what I want to do.

Thanks

On the Manage tab select Make Components. Select the solid bodies to create separate parts files.

Hi WILLIAMF,

It looks like you 1) imported a STEP file in an Inventor part environment or 2) opened a multi-body STEP file. So, bobfournier4926's solution works perfectly.

If it's a STEP assembly file, you can also simply open the STEP file directly. It will be automatically opened in an Inventor assembly environment with all the individual parts.
