spiral cam modeling

Hello

I want to proceed with spiral cam modeling.

I tried to proceed with the coil, but...I hope the end ends in a semicircle.

I tried filleting as well, but it wasn't what I wanted.

I want the center of the semicircle to match the center line of the cylinder, but if I use the fillet, it does not match.

I would like to know how to make it coincide with the centerline of the cylinder with the end of the semicircle ending.

<coil + filet>

That is all.

Thank you.

Hi! I still believe this should be done using Solid Sweep. Take a look at the attached part.

The reason why Coil is not a good choice is that the profile is 2D. The profile stops at the end of the sweep. The two fillets approximate the cylindrical faces. But, the issue is that the sweep (coil) stops short. You will need to add a tiny bit of revolution to accommodate the rod moving forward.

Many thanks!

Hello thank you.

In the case of the 2019 version, it seems that the solid sweep does not work.

How to proceed with the 2019 version?

That is all.

Thank you.

Hi! Solid Sweep is only available on 2020 and later. For 2019, you will need to Profile Sweep or Coil. To get the desirable result, you need to add a bit more revolution (0.5+rod diameter/helix diameter).

Many thanks!
