Spiral Bevel Gear

Good day all,

I am redesigning a gearbox with a right angle gearset. The right angle set exists already and will not be remade, but I want to incorporate a representation of it in my model.

Being that we make gears, I familiar with most types, but not spiral bevel. I know inventor does this, but I do posses the information to properly replicate it using the bevel gear generator. As such, I have drawn the blank and want to cut/extrude the teeth around the pinion manually just for representation sake but I am unsure how to do this.

I have attached the dummy model. It is to scale and accurate so far as I can measure, just not certain how to draw and extrude a 3D tooth profile.

Tks!

Hi Randy,

I tried to use coil feature to create the extrusion, I think its sufficient for representation purposes.

Hope this helps.
