I am trying to create a dome like structure on top of a solid body.  Why can I not just loft the two faces together along a line?

What version of Inventor?

I don't think I have ever had a spline with that many nodes before (more is not better) - can you attach the file here?

The Form tool might be a much faster solution.

If so, can you zip and attach the original file?

If not, I don't understand the logic of your sketches, so I would not be able to help.
