Slice Graphics

Hi All

Trying to slice graphics. Am doing a dependent part within an assembly.

When I tick  slice graphics nothing happens.

What am I missing. Is there a setting somewhere?

Also I am on a different computer and in a new job, and 

when I log in to the forum everyting appears in French

How do I get it translated back to english

More information is needed.

1. Are you in an active sketch at the part level?

2. Do you have Transparency (for inactive components) On or Off?

Yes I am in an active sketch at part level, but within the assembly, ie it is an adaptive part

can't see that transparency command you are talking about

I opened the part separately outside the assembly and

was able to see everythng, I didn't have to worry about slice graphics.

Maybe you can't so slice graphics in an assembly environment with an adaptive part?

I think @JDMather gave you the right solution. Just press the arrow in the bottom of the "View" dialogue box (while in the sketch) and you get the option to make the assembly transparent while in the sketch - and thus it is easier to project edges etc.  

We tend to forget where "Slice graphics" is available, I think ...?
