sketch in Drawing not position locked

In previous versions I could click a view on a drawing and then sketch and draw on the view. Then having finished the sketch if the view was moved the sketch would go with it. Now it does NOT and hatched details in the sketch are screwed! Why?

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

So what Inventor version are you now on?  What updates have you applied?

In the drawing browser, where is this sketch listed?  Under the view or outside of the view?

OK I'm on 2020, the sketch is in the view tab, and updates have been done regularly but it's been like this since I started hear 6 months ago.

Is that 2020.1.1?

Can you Attach example files or at least screen capture similar to this?

Hi,  in the Inventor drawing files there are two types of sketches. The sketches of the drawing sheets, and the sketches of the drawing views. When you create a sketch on a drawing sheet it will not move if there is a view and the view moves, even the units of measure will not correspond to the drawing view, the units of measure of this sketch will be the units of measure of the sheet.
What you describe is a drawing view sketch. To create it you must first select the drawing view and then create the sketch.
This sketch will move with the drawing view and this sketch will maintain a relationship between the units of measure of the part.
I hope I was clear. Regards

Hi! I am sorry I am not seeing the issue here. Like Sergio explained earlier, if you want the sketch to be associated with a view, you need to select the view and then create the sketch on top of it. Otherwise, the sketch will be on the sheet.

Please share a file exhibiting the behavior. It does not sound right. It should work.

Many thanks!

OK thanks guys, at least I know nothings changed, I am doing it right. It seems to be an intermitent fault on this PC with Inventor - there's several strange things happening; I've reinstalled Inventor but that hasn't helped. It not infrequently goes really slow and hangs up and after waiting all I can do is kill it. PC seems to be up to spec so I'll have to get IT to look at it, although it does seem to be more a problem with Inventor. Can't post any examples as I had to correct and get on.

I produce these sketches, linked to a view, all the time, in fact am doing it right now. it is important to double-check that, as other posters have said, your sketch really is tied to the relevant view, and not just 'floating about on the sheet'. In the Annotation tab of Inventor, I select Start Sketch. Inventor prompts you to select a view. Select the appropriate view and the the cross-hairs come up over that view, which is a check. I then ground the features within the sketch before exiting.

NO IT'S NOT SOLVED - SKETCHES STILL STAYING PUT WHEN VIEW MOVED. SEE ATTACHED SNAP-SHOT.

If your sketch truly is in the view, not the sheet, project some geometry from the view into the sketch and dimension to constrain it, Other use the 'lock' constraint to fix the sketch.

ok I've actually stopped rushing to check thoroughly. What everyone's said is what I've been doing for years without thinking about it. But on this PC typically this is what I have 90% of the time, I highlight the line, right click and it offers 'ok' NOT 'done', and doesn't actually do it.

Can you reproduce this issue in a simple sample set of files and zip and Attach here?

i don't see any dimensions to the line in your sketch. Your need to either project some geometry into your sketch and dimensions from it to fix your line, or ground it within the sketch. Without dimensions, even though it is "in the sketch", it won't be fixed relative to the geometry.
