Hello everyone! I am in trouble in the holes of the frame generator ,if you know how to manage it please tell me,thank you!

The step:1, I create a sketch ,and add  4 points on it ;

                2,  I create a frame generator, and make  a hole on it,then i want to use the sketch driven to create more holes,but i can't chose the sketch.

Hi

  1. An assembly level pattern cannot use a component level sketch.
  2. Please note that holes created at the assembly level will only be visible in the assembly files.
  3. You can edit parts individually and model different operations in them (also using adaptivity).
  4. You can also create a pattern at the part level (such as surface bodies) and use it as the basis for an associative pattern created in an assembly.

Here is a post from the idea station that you can vote for and maybe they will implement in the future.

Think of assembly hole feature like this. In a previous company we used hydraulic cylinders for specific equipment motion. Once the cylinder and rod clevis were in the correct position (stroke length) we would drill the clevis and cylinder rod IN PLACE (Assembly feature) and then bolt it together so the rod couldn't potential spin and change the stroke length. As others have mentioned. If you put your holes in the parts, then you either do circular, rectangular or sketch driven patterns, then at the assembly level, when you activate the pattern command, you use the "Feature Driven Pattern" function. This makes the assembly level pattern follow what is defined in the part itself. So, if you add or remove or suppress a hole in the part, it will automatically do it for that hole at the assembly level. Keep in mind it would be a good idea to place the fasteners in the parent hole of the part pattern. Hope that helps clarify

Thank you for your help, but I want to use the skeleton  sketch to make multiple holes at one time for the frame created by the frame generator,and the multiple holes can be changed with the  skeleton  sketch  also。The frame original is .iam pattern. During the modeling period ,I have succeed some times,you can see the picture below:

but then after sometimes  restart of the Inventor program(maybe sometimes of sketch adjustment),the sketch driven pattern holes failed, the  related sketch missed in the sketch driven pattern , when I tried to edit the  sketch driven pattern ,the Inventor program  crashed,after several attempts,i can not choose the sketch anymore  I'm using the 2024version
