I am running into issues with the newest version of Inventor 2025 where sketch dimension input menus are changing and I'm not sure why.

Sometimes I will start a new part, create a sketch, and for example when I draw a line I will get the dimension/angle input boxes where I can tab through enter the length and angle, this is what I want.

Other times instead of the dimension input boxes I get a different pop-up menu that wants coordinates. Picture attached below is what I don't want.

I have not changed any settings and it seemingly will do it at random. Today I worked on multiple parts normally, opened a new part and tried to draw a rectangle and the pop-up menu had changed once again. Heads-up setting are all set to input dimension where possible. Maybe there is a hotkey I am accidentally pressing but I usually have to completely close Inventor to get it to go back to normal.

Hi! This is probably display related. Go to Windows Display options and select the recommended resolution and scale. Right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> "Change High DPI settings" -> check both boxes.

In case you are using dual monitors, please make the one hosting Inventor the primary display.

If none of the above helps, you may want to add the following environment variables on one of the panels (Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Environment Variables).

  • "QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR" as 0 or 1, which enables/disables automatic scaling
  • "QT_SCALE_FACTOR" as 1 or other values, which defines a scale factor for Qt windows

Many thanks!
